Sister Zo serves up a selection of textural and propulsive elements, spanning the continuum of dubstep, techno, and leftfield bass. Layered hand percussion and synths flicker across the stereo spectrum in this carefully finessed collection of ear candy. Focusing on putting forth a “unique spatial orientation” in every sound, Sister Zo weaves synthesis with field recordings to create weighty, tactile, hi-def tones. Reverse builds and warped artifacts complement the core of the pack, touching on more delicate, spectral territory by twist and turn.
