Maximalist yet deliberately low-fidelity, somewhere between dubstep, indie, nth-wave emo, and chiptune: this is “bitcrush music,” self-described by 18-year-old US producer, sound designer and plugin developer (un)familiar. Multi-hypenate since age 11, they’ve released 2 Splice packs on Billegal Sounds, created ‘Spectralsand,’ a spectral delay plugin which made rounds in the producer twittersphere, and became a staple in online music communities like FORM and the Niztopia song wars, which they won this year with ‘123 (the longest dream)’ alongside frequent collaborators STOMACH BOOK, zombAe and death do us apart. Their recent album ‘rubberneck’ is a diaristic culmination of these influences where no two songs sound the same. 

The Studio Special Edition Volume 2 expands on the standard instruments included in Volume 1, with more than 40 additional instruments and ensembles. Included are chamber strings, solo instruments and ensembles of woodwinds and brass, keyboards as well as plucked and percussion instruments. Most instruments were recorded in the relatively dry and controlled environment of the Silent Stage, giving you a wealth of options for placing the instruments in any acoustic environment of your choice, including presets for their perfect positions on Stage A of Synchron Stage Vienna.

The Studio Special Edition Volume 1 contains over 50 of the most common instruments and ensembles with a wealth of articulations. Included are two solo violins and two solo cellos, orchestral strings, solo instruments and ensembles of the brass section, woodwinds ranging from piccolo flute to contrabassoon, harp, timpani, drums and percussion as well as celesta and two different grand pianos.
