In case we haven't met, I am the Founder and Chief Engineer of The Panda Studios. I have been a producer and engineer here in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 15 years. Most of the audio education out there focuses on the technical side of things (engineering, mixing, mastering, and so forth), but in this Fast Track I'm going to be talking about something just as important but rarely discussed: communication. There are many technical and creative challenges in any session, but unless you are recording your own solo project, oftentimes the biggest challenge is dealing with the many personalities, opinions, demands and ideas involved – the human side of the equation.
