A not so distant cousin of the Vibes series, Resonance has the vibes, but it also has the soul. Our first pack of the year using our new system of creation, Resonance 2 takes flight in a way that can only happen when every person plays heavily into their strengths, and to do this right, we added some new additions to our design team.

Birocratic, born Brandon Rowan, is a producer and multi-instrumentalist in Brooklyn, NY who creates electronic tunes with an organic soul. Originally trained in piano, Biro eventually taught himself guitar, bass, and drums and began multitrack recording in his garage. His early passion for engineering, combined with his taste for funk and jazz fusion, ultimately led him to explore the underpinnings of hip hop production. From there, Birocratic generated buzz for his trippy sample-chopping, melodic basslines, and energetic drum programming. Find his funk and soul-inspired electronic sounds in this Splice pack.

Franc Moody's sound is contemporary funk, awash with electronic inspiration, human touches, and throbbing grooves. Like Daft Punk and Jamiroquai before them, they draw from the sounds, styles and techniques of funk, disco and soul while simultaneously threading in electronic influences of the here and now.

Musician and composer Charles Van Kirk uses the house as a found sound environment, recording various household objects to create a musical textures from items we use every day. Charlie uses a Neumann KM 184 stereo pair to capture found sounds in the highest quality.

The Affinity SK50D is a Kontakt Library Replication of the ultra-rare Yamaha SK50D dual keyboard synthesizer and symphonic organ. Produced over 40 Years ago in very few numbers, we captured every nuance of this nostalgic and unique multi-timber instrument. It includes 5 full-featured modules including a giant solo monophonic synth, a 3 oscillator polyphonic synth and string machine, a monstrously unique 3 oscillator monophonic bass synth, a 2 timber lush lower organ and an adjustable 9 drawbar style upper organ with an additional 3 timber perk layers.

This edition of Sessions was recorded on location in Dakar with producer and recording artist, Iss 814 in an effort to capture the sounds of Dakar’s nature and city life. We recorded the sounds of the city streets, street performers, and found sound percussion created by hitting various materials with sticks.
