Enter the mythic world of “Babylon” - a unique collection of experimental samples, including mysterious chord progressions, playful melodies, deep bass lines, crisp cutting drums and an expansive range of sound effects, textures and foley recordings.

Through this pack, our in-house sound design team explored the analog possibilities of Astra Splice’s classic synth instrument. Pulling inspiration from the past 60 years of synth explorers, this pack travels through time from synth progenitors like Delia Derbyshire, Wendy Carlos, and Mort Garson to the emotive sonic visions of Vangelis, Suzanne Ciani, and Laurie Spiegel. We added some additional colors inspired by their contemporary analog heirs, such as Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Lichens, and Chrome Sparks.

For most of us, the anatomy of sound and its inner workings as a creative catalyst is a peculiar thing. The moment we hear something we can’t define – a new instrument – our minds inevitably open up to interpretations beyond the convention. Sound becomes visuals that in turn transform into tangible ideas. This library of sounds for EZkeys is a prime example of just that.

All music fans harbor in their memories vivid fragments of their favorite works. The starting guitar solo of "Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones, the da-da-da-DUM gesture that opens Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, the lush swelling chords of a beloved movie soundtrack: hearing the briefest snippet of any of these is enough to transport listeners into the piece's sonic and emotional world. But what makes musical motives so powerful? In Musical Motives, author Brent Auerbach looks at the ways that motives the small-scale pitch and rhythm shapes that are ever-present in music unify musical compositions and shape our experiences of them.
