Stretching the possibilities of the human voice, Vocal Abstractions explores disembodied, re-synthesized vocals across the uncanny valley for use across genres. Created in collaboration between vocalist Angie Swan and sound designer Tristan Arp, granular synthesis and resampling of raw vowel tones led to the creation of virtual vocal instruments, which lend themselves to percussive, ambient, and melodic manifestations.

Progressive Perfection. Starting with rock, but then fused with elements of contemporary progressive styles, Rock Fusion manages to be both heavy and musically experimental. With some distorted and crunch guitar tones leading the way, these are complemented beautifully by both electric bass and synth bass for the low-end. Synths, organs and pianos add musical depth, while jazz-influenced solos on sax, trumpet and synths provide a great top-line when required. Powerful drum performances with some cool time signature variations deliver a great rhythmic feel.

Boom-Chick is a versatile technique used and refined by many great Fingerstyle guitar icons such as Mose Rager, Ike Everly, Doc Watson, Merle Travis, Odell Martin, Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed, Tommy Emmanuel, Thom Bresh, Richard Smith, Doyle Dykes, and many more. The technique can be applied to Folk, Country, Blues, Jazz, and Americana tunes. At the core of the technique is an alternating thumb pattern often played with muted bass strings and sustaining treble strings.

The harder-edged blues vocabulary they created has inspired virtually every generation of blues guitarists since.

Hi, I'm Brad Carlton and welcome to Guitar Lab: Ear Training Vol. 3. This course will give you a systematic approach for developing your ear and also for knowing where a pitch is located on the fretboard. You'll be presented with principles including intervals, bass notes, and diatonic triads. Each of these topics will apply to a question and answer format where you'll be presented with a pitch or chord, and will then be asked to find it on the sixth string. I'll then give you the correct answer along with any pertinent information about the process involved in finding that pitch or chord.
